Mission and Overview

Warren County Technical School strives to develop opportunities for vocational, academic and personal achievement through the cooperation of students, staff, parents, and the community in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Our requirements go beyond the fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic to encompass thinking skills such as problem- solving, decision-making, and reasoning. In addition, we work to develop personal qualities such as responsibility, integrity, sociability, and character in all of our students.

District Highlights

Warren County Technical School recently completed a $6.7 million addition to its facility. The addition enabled the school to provide a facility for its performing arts program in a 250-seat theater with all the amenities. The new 150,000-square-foot facility also enabled the school to move to an academy setting for numerous programs in its curriculum.

As a county school, we also strive to maintain a leadership role in the implementation and demonstration of a variety of educational technologies to assist in elevating the achievement of all Warren County students. As evidence of this, WARRENnet, a consortium of school districts and municipalities in Warren County, has been flourishing for the past seven years. WARRENnet provides Internet access and email to its patrons, serving thousands of students and adults. We continue to use interactive television as a means to provide and receive low incidence programs and course work. In addition, the Educational Technology Training Center located in our school continues to provide instruction for teachers in a variety of computer-related areas while assisting in the expansion of their professional development endeavors.

Looking Ahead

Warren Tech has emerged into a full-time only facility. The inclusion of career academies into the curriculum allows graduating students the opportunity of going to work or moving on to higher education in a seamless transition. Meanwhile, in keeping with the high-tech attitude of the school, all freshmen receive a hand held computer for their use, an initiative aimed at making learning possible anywhere and at any time, while leveling the playing field for all students.
