Cisco and C+ Networking
Hector G. Maldonado entered Essex County Vocational High School's North 13th Street Center in 1997, taking bilingual classes to learn English. Soon becoming fluent in both English and Spanish, he majored in Cisco and C+ Networking and was an honor roll student.
Hector graduated as the salutatorian of his class in 2001. He began taking college classes at Westwood College, paying for those classes by working on computers part-time for the Essex County Vocational School District.
Today, Hector is working full-time as the district's systems network administrator and he continues to pursue his bachelor’s degree in computer sciences part-time.
