Business Partners of the Year: Passaic County

2010—F3 Engineering

F3 Engineering is a Paterson-based aerospace engineering and manufacturing firm that designs, develops and produces products for military and commercial applications. F3 Engineering plans to add 100 jobs to its payroll over the next five years with many of those new positions targeted to be filled by graduates of Passaic County Technical Institute. Through its partnership with PCTI, F3 Engineering is investing in resources and training for PCTI students. The recent presentation of a $5,000 scholarship to PCTI to establish internships and work-based leaming opportunities to foster skill development for engineering and manufacturing technology students affirms F3's commitment to PCTI students, enabling them to compete in the global workplace.

2009—Sax Macy Fromm

Sax Macy Fromm has partnered with Passaic County Technical Institute consistently since 2000. This partnership has provided students with work-based learning opportunities in the form of Internships and Cooperative Education in Accounting and Business. Sax Macy Fromm (Allan Wolf - Chairman of the Board of the Academy of Finance) serves on the advisory board for the Academy of Finance. Sax Macy Fromm has assisted the district in obtaining established goals and developing skills for our students to sustain themselves as adults in the labor force and careers in finance.

Founded in 1956, Sax Macy Fromm & Co., PC services small and medium size businesses in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. It is one of the largest single-office accounting and business consulting firms in the area.

2008—Metal Components

Metal Components of Paterson has partnered with Passaic County Technical Institute consistently since 1998. This partnership provides students with work-based learning opportunities in the form of job shadowing, internships and cooperative education. Metal Components provides technical assistance to the school's manufacturing technology instructors. Metal Components serves on the school's advisory committee, helping to update the curriculum and equipment.

2007—Valley National Bank

Valley National Bank has partnered with Passaic County Technical Institute consistently for approximately 15 years. This partnership has provided approximately 200 students with work-based learning opportunities in the form of job shadowing, internships and cooperative education. Valley National Bank awards scholarships to students every year and serves on the advisory committee for the Academy of Finance. Valley National Bank helps the district attain its goals and helps students develop skills that will sustain them in the labor force and in banking careers.

2006—STS Tire & Auto Center

STS Tire & Auto Center has partnered with Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) consistently since 2000. This partnership has provided about 140 students with work-based learning opportunities through shadowing, internships, and cooperative education, utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. STS Tire and Auto Center provides technical assistance for our automotive technology instructors and donates equipment for student training. This business partner participates in the Automotive Youth Educational System's tool scholarship program and has offered an additional scholarship to PCIT students every year. STS serves on the advisory committee recommending suggestions for updating the automotive technology curriculum and equipment. In addition, the company provides trained and certified ASE technicians as motivational guest speakers. This partnership has assisted the district in obtaining established goals and in developing skills for our students to sustain themselves as adults in the workforce.
