NJCCVTS Welcomes Three New County Vocational-Technical Superintendents
NJCCVTS is welcoming three new superintendents, recently appointed to head county vocational-technical schools.
Robert Glowacky was named Chief School Administrator of the Warren County Technical School in August. Mr. Glowacky was most recently the principal of the Adult High School at Union County Vocational Technical Schools, where he worked for 17 years beginning as a teacher. He was instrumental in the district establishing satellite adult high schools within the Abbott districts of Elizabeth and Plainfield.
Michael Pennella, Ph. D. joins the Essex County Technical School as the Interim Superintendent. Dr. Pennella previously held the positions of director of education and secondary school principal at Ridge High School in Bernards Township. During his time as principal of Ridge High School, the school was recognized by the Secretary of Education as a "Blue Ribbon School for Excellence in Education." He was the president of a successful technology and marketing businesses and is the founder of Shared Learning, an executive coaching group. Dr. Pennella is a member of the faculty at the Graduate School of Management at Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick. He holds a Ph.D. from New York University.
Kim Metz has assumed the role of superintendent of Hunterdon County Polytech. She has worked for the school district since it was created in 1996, serving as director of curriculum and instruction, director of adult education, and director of grants. Previously, she was the vocational and industrial arts teacher at North Hunterdon / Voorhees Regional High School.
The Council of County Vocational-Technical Schools is the statewide association of board of education members and superintendents of the 21 county-based, vocational technical school districts.
