In partnership with Cisco Systems Inc., Essex County Vocational Schools is one of many county vocational-technical schools offering training that leads to highly-sought-after Cisco certification for IT professionals. The Cisco Networking Academy Program teaches students to design, build, and maintain computer networks. Cisco-certified instructors teach hands-on classes using state-of-the-art hardware and software.

The whole earth and its environmental issues and problems is the laboratory for an innovative, science-based career major for high school and post-secondary students at Burlington County Institute of Technology. Geopatial Technologies program students learn about planet Earth while studying environmental science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and meteorology. Via satellite imagery and remotely sensed data, students view the planet in real time, collect data through measurements and observations, and create geographic intelligence.
Distance learning technology is redefining the future of education. The NJ eSchool, developed by the Hudson County Schools of Technology, offers a curriculum of credit recovery and enrichment courses taught by state-certified teachers trained in online instruction and aligned with NJ’s Core Curriculum Content Standards. In the e-learning environment, students find their daily schedule, lessons, grades, and messages from teachers awaiting them each time they log in. NJ e-School teachers provide instructional support via email, instant messenger and the telephone.
Students at the Union County Academy for Information Technology earn certifications in Microsoft Office, A+, Oracle database programming, and Java programming as part of their high school curriculum.
