District Highlights
Cumberland TEC believes the best way to learn a skill is to “just do it.” Each year, our programs serve more than 700 adults and high school students. Part-time and evening programs serve hundreds more. More than half of our 21 programs typically have placement rates of 100 percent. Cumberland TEC’s satellite campus, the NJ Academy of Aviation Science, provides the state’s only public-school, FAA-approved, aviation maintenance program. Industry certification groups approve nearly all Cumberland TEC technical programs. Whether it’s one of our full-time programs or a custom class for local industry, we provide “high-wow, know how” that qualifies our students for good-paying jobs.
Looking Ahead
Will Rogers said, “Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” Changing training programs to meet changing industry needs is the only constant at Cumberland County TEC. Cumberland TEC is a shared-time tech school with plans to become a comprehensive high school providing academic and career training under one roof by the fall of 2007. This year we added an Emergency Services (firefighter and EMS) program and expanded our LPN program capacity to meet community needs. As industry needs change, so will Cumberland TEC’s programs.
