Mission and Overview
The Burlington County Institute of Technology is a public vocational technical school district serving the academic and vocational needs of students in grades 9 to 12 and the needs of adults through our Adult Education Division. We have two campuses, one on Woodlane Road in Westampton and the other on Hawkins Road in Medford. BCIT is a school district of choice and students come to us from all public, private, and parochial schools in Burlington County. Our mission is to provide students with a complete high school experience and the skills necessary for a fulfilled and productive work life.

District Highlights
Deeply committed to Tech Prep, BCIT’s Medford Campus now offers a Pre-Engineering Academy sanctioned by Project Lead the Way. This innovative career major allows students to graduate from high school with substantial credits toward an engineering curriculum at Rochester Institute of Technology. In addition, BCIT offers 15 career majors that articulate to ten institutions of higher learning. Students can earn from between two and 29 college credits depending upon their specific career major path and their choice for post-secondary education.
In the area of academic programs, BCIT offers college preparatory courses in English, social studies, mathematics, and the sciences. Honors courses in English, science, and mathematics are also offered. The district also has college credit articulation agreements with 10 colleges and universities throughout the country.
BCIT has ties to a variety of entities in the community through school to work, Youth Transitions to Work, and apprenticeship programs. The district also is involved with the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) whose mission is to develop and assist in the implementation of employment and training policies to create a coherent, integrated system of employment, training, education programs and services.
Looking Ahead
The district has undergone a $44 million renovation program over four years and includes improved facilities and infrastructure, additional classrooms and career major areas. Renovations also include a new performing arts facility at the Medford Campus and a new adult education wing at the Westampton Campus.
